Impact of Chemotherapy on Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH) and other Circulating Hormones in Carcinoma Breast
Introduction: Incidence of breast cancer in women varies with age, mammary gland mass and exposure to endogenous and exogenous hormones. Breast cancer grows within a hormonal milieu which plays an important role in its development. Aim: The present study was planned to assess circulating hormone (serum estrogen (E2), progesterone, and testosterone, FSH, LH and AMH) levels in breast cancer patie...

متن کاملAge-Specific Serum Anti-Mullerian Hormone and Follicle Stimulating Hormone Concentrations in Infertile Iranian Women
Background Anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) is secreted by the granulosa cells of growing follicles during the primary to large antral follicle stages. Abnormal levels of AMH and follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) may indicate a woman’s diminished ability or inability to conceive. Our aim is to investigate the changes in serum AMH and FSH concentrations at different age groups and its correlation w...
متن کاملAnti-Mullerian Hormone: Usefulness in Clinical Practice
Anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH) is a protein that inhibits the development of the mullerian ducts (paramesonephric ducts) in the male embryo. AMH prevents the development of the mullerian ducts into the uterus and other mullerian structures in the first 8 weeks of gestational age. AMH is produced by granulosa cells of the ovary during the reproductive years and controls the formation of primary fo...
متن کاملClinical Utilities of Anti-Mullerian Hormone
Anti mullerian hormone (AMH) is a homodimeric glycoprotein belonging to the transforming growth factors (TGF-β) super family. AMH plays a fundamental role in the regression of mullerian ducts in male embryo. In boys, it is significantly produced in Sertoli cells of testes until puberty and then slowly decreases to residual values for the rest of the men’s life. In female, it is secreted by gran...
